“My name is Linda; I am 58 years of age and have suffered with chronic pain, for over 20 years. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (FM) 20 years ago. The word fibromyalgia means pain in the muscles and the fibrous connective tissue, specifically the ligaments and tendons. As well, the tissues of the body are all inflamed.
FM is an illness of unrelenting pain, exhaustion and so many other symptoms too many to name. The only way I can describe the feeling is to say, it’s like having a toothache all over my body constantly.
Because FM is so very debilitating, I have lacked any real quality of life for some time now. My husband and I are always looking for new ways to take away my pain, or at least to provide some mild relief. I was fortunate to be introduced to Angela Ripolo, in March of this year (2013). She was just starting the process of starting her own business as a professional trainer. She encouraged me on my first visit. I was quite low in spirit and very depressed, as I am very out of shape and overweight. I told her I was so, and she would have to be patient with me. I told her I had to approach exercise cautiously and that my exercise program had to be very gradual. The first four months I only went once per week and I felt it just wasn’t enough, so starting July 1st I committed to twice per week.
Angela is very professional and thorough. Before she started my series of training sessions, she had me fill out a questionnaire. She discussed any medical issues that were concerns, she discussed my goals, nutrition, and she took my measurements. She is very thorough with each training session, always organized and prepared. Each session is different than that last. I have been with her 6 months now and I don’t think I have ever done the same exercise more than twice. She is very vocal while working with me, constantly reminding me to stabilize my core, telling me which muscles to use, how to accurately do the exercises and how not to do them. She is also very strict on proper form, and explains why proper form is so very necessary. She explains each exercise with excellent explanations. She also has the patience and ability to work with every level of athlete or there lack of. She has the knowledge and wisdom to know when to push me and when not to. She always keeps the session exciting. She often follows up with me a few days later to see how I am doing. She also lets me know she is always available if I need to talk to her about anything. She also helps me with nutritional tips
As of today, September 8, 2013 I have lost 7.5 inches. She has given me the tools to start creating a new version of myself, and I am excited for the first time in a long time. I have a new outlook that this is my year and I am going to see a new me, despite my pain. Yes I am still in pain, but my body is getting stronger which seems to allow me to tolerate my pain somewhat better.
Angela teaches from her heart and it takes a special lady to do that. She actually cares about each and every one of her clients. She gets just as excited as I do about my progress. I look forward to continue working with Angela in the future, in helping me reach my goals and helping me to continue my life with a positive attitude. Thanks Angela!”
