About Angela
As a child growing up in an Italian house, bread and pasta were always the staple of my diet. I can still remember eating heaping platefuls of pasta with half a loaf of my mother’s homemade bread. There was no such thing as a serving size, you just ate everything on your plate and then some. Although I loved my sports and was quite active I always had some extra weight that haunted me leaving me quite insecure. When I entered high school I refrained from joining any of the school sports because the uniforms were just too small for my liking. I couldn’t bear the thought of showing so much skin and the thought of everyone watching how much would jiggle terrified me. Needless to say this was the end of any type of physical activity besides my P.E. class that was mandatory until Grade 10.
In 2009 I finally became a certified personal trainer. I knew that I didn’t want to work in the bar industry forever and was really quite passionate about fitness. I took my own training to the next level and maintained a healthier lifestyle than ever. I was in great shape, working as a personal trainer and still working part time as a bartender. I was getting great experience but I still felt like something was missing.
In July 2012 I gave birth to a baby boy and everything changed from there. I had gained 30 lbs of fat while I was pregnant but did not waste any time trying to burn that fat right off. One of the benefits that I had going for me was that I remained quite active during my pregnancy so I was actually working out the first week after I gave birth. The first month back at training, I was adjusting to having a newborn and getting workouts in here and there. I set a goal for the second month after I gave birth to do my first ever challenge. I committed to the Insanity challenge and followed through for 60 days. I lost about 15 lbs of fat but was not seeing the results that I really wanted to see. Yes the fat was coming off but my body responds better to weight training and I believe with all my being that everyone’s body responds better to weight training. This is when I decided to set up a little studio in my son’s future bedroom. I also thought to myself, why not just start up your own little business from home and see what happens.
This really was the best decision I ever made. I finally felt like for the first time that I was doing exactly what I was meant to be doing. I didn’t have that feeling like something was missing anymore. I get to be a part of changing people’s lives for the better every day and that truly is such a rewarding feeling. I really believe that you can have, do or be whatever it is that you want in life and if you want to take your fitness to the next level then I am here ready with the tools to help you get there.
